Language hunting crash course

Become fluent in the basic WAYK techniques that allow players to quickly learn any language by talking with a fluent speaker without the help of textbooks, dictionaries, or translations. Apply the Universal Speed Curriculum to your target language by building specific, bite-sized, teachable lessons or "rides" which can rapidly transfer your newfound fluency to others.

One-week Seminar

Intensive training in accelerated learning techniques

One-week seminars focus on the concept of a bucket brigade. In the beginning, a previously-trained scout is sent to begin hunting the language and finding bite-sized pieces while participants are trained in WAYK gameplay.

Once the track has been laid, participants learn to run rides and use WAYK techniques to quickly pass off what they have learned to others. By the end of the week, you will have applied the Universal Speed Curriculum to your target language and will be able to fluently conduct basics transactions like asking for goods and negotiating trades.

One-month Project

Rapid language acquisition

In one month, you'll go beyond basic transactions, learning how to identify and neatly package the most useful bite-sized pieces of your language into fun and concise "rocket-rides" to fluency. You'll be able to become fluent by hunting language over cups of tea with grandma.

Community language leadership training

In 10 weeks, a core team from your community will master techniques for language learning and group facilitation, empowering them to build a strong, safe, sustainable language nest. This rich environment will begin to produce a steady stream of language teachers capable of engaging other traditional technologies in the target language. Your core "wolf-pack" of language teacher-learners will be fully equipped to confidently take the first steps toward full linguistic and cultural revitalization.

One-year Revitalization

In a year-long revitalization, your community will create a tried and tested rapid lesson sequence that will take any student from zero to fluent in record time. Waves of brand-new fluent speakers will hone the curriculum as they practice their newfound teaching abilities on family, friends, and neighbors, launching an arts and culture renaissance as speakers become able to maintain cottage industries in the target language.
