What is "Where Are Your Keys?"

WAYK is a system.

WAYK is a collection of techniques used for rapidly reaching proficiency in a target skill, such as Spanish, volleyball, or old-style fiddling (although to date, WAYK has been used mostly for acquiring languages). More than just a single method, WAYK is a system for using any method that works. The technique collection is constantly growing—every time the community discovers a new trick which allows players to teach and learn faster, it is "contracted" and propogated through the community to allow other players to accelerate their learning even more.

WAYK is a game.

Play is a heightened learning state. The WAYK system allows learners to construct carefully designed games in an environment of focused, addictive play which drives the acquisition process. WAYK sessions are not classes, and not lessons—they reach their full potential when everyone involved thinks of them as games. There are no teachers or students, only players who fill both roles at the same time. There are no textbooks or worksheets, only the things you have in your pockets.

The game is hard to explain but easy to show—see the game in action.

WAYK is a philosophy.

"Where Are Your Keys?" players believe that even the fastest process can be made faster, students need not wait to teach others what they know, and fluency is easy. Everyone learned a language once, without the use of textbooks or dictionaries, and given the right tools, they can do it again.
