Squamish Nation Introductory Workshop

The WAYK team will visit with Sḵwx̱wú7mesh teachers and learners at Squamish Nation to provide a 1-week introductory WAYK workshop in partnership with Ta na wa Ns7éyx̱nitm ta Snew̓íyelh (the Nation’s Department of Language & Cultural Affairs). Beyond an introduction to the essentials of WAYK, the workshop will focus on strategies for creating immersion routines in a variety of classrooms (elementary, secondary, community classes, etc.) as well as using WAYK Techniques to support existing curricula and materials.
