Kodiak Fall Visit 2017

November 26 - December 20

The WAYK team will visit with the Alutiiq language team in Kodiak, Alaska to support them as they enter the second year of their ANA Native Language Community Coordination Project. We are excited to check in with the team as they continue on their five-year project and work to expand their Alutiiq Language Nest for pre-school aged children in addition to reviewing and strengthening existing curriculum to support elementary, middle school, high school, and college Alutiiq learners.

Tsleil-Waututh Nation Winter Visit 2018

Alaska Native Heritage Center Follow-Up Training 2018

WAYK returns to the Alaska Native Heritage Center for our third follow-up training with their Yup’ik and Iñupiaq teaching teams. In preparation for this training, the WAYK team has visited both Yup'ik and Iñupiaq language classes offered as part of ANHC's current project. This training will continue to focus on incorporating WAYK Techniques into the other language teaching methods in which the instructors have been trained (Total Physical Response and Accelerated Second Language Acquisition). Alaska Gateway School District Introductory Workshop (Tentative Dates)

Tentative Dates: March 26, 2018 - April 8, 2018 (N.B. At this time, these dates are not confirmed.) The WAYK team will travel to the interior of Alaska in April 2018 to work with teachers, students, and community members in partnership with the Alaska Gateway School District.
