WAYK returns to the Alaska Native Heritage Center for our third follow-up training with their Yup’ik and Iñupiaq teaching teams. In preparation for this training, the WAYK team has visited both Yup’ik and Iñupiaq language classes offered as part of ANHC’s current project. This training will continue to focus on incorporating WAYK Techniques into the other language teaching methods in which the instructors have been trained (Total Physical Response and Accelerated Second Language Acquisition). Additionally, the WAYK team will share more demonstration lessons, highlighting how to isolate a “bite-sized piece” of language and develop it into a lesson. The WAYK team will answer questions from the teaching teams about their experiences utilizing WAYK in their classrooms.
