In partnership with APIA (the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association) and with support from ANA (the Administration for Native Americans), the WAYK team returns to Anchorage for 10 days of sessions in May 2017. We will continue to work with the Niiĝuĝim Tunuu and Qawalangim Tunuu language teams based in Anchorage and Wasilla. As always, our goal is to work with small groups of learners and speakers of both dialects of Unangam Tunuu in short sessions (1-2 hours), in an effort to refine and share existing lessons and curriculum, develop skills in both teaching and immersion, and increase fluency. The precise content of these small group sessions will be tailored to the needs of the attendees. In addition to small group sessions, the WAYK team will support existing and emerging Unangam Tunuu language gatherings in Anchorage, Palmer, and Wasilla.
