c̓išaaʔatḥ January 2024 Workshop

The WAYK team joins the c̓išaaʔatḥ Adult Intensive Program for a two-week training in January 2024. The first week of our workshop (January 8-11, 2024) will be on Zoom. The second week of our workshop (January 15-18, 2024) will be in person in Port Alberni.

The Adult Intensive Program is a part-time adult immersion program for learners of nuučaan̓uł, now in it’s third year. The program grows each year as a small cohort of new learners joins the group. By bringing many levels of learners together in their program, the c̓išaaʔatḥ team gives all program participants experience with teaching.

The WAYK team is excited to continue our work with the c̓išaaʔatḥ team. We look forward to seeing the returning cohorts and seeing the progress of the new cohort that joined in October 2023. This training will focus on language hunting, giving learners tools and strategies for immersion language elicitation.
