Dox Naahlx dip Niye’e Introductory Workshop

The WAYK team will visit with Gitxsan Sim Algyax teachers and learners to provide a 10-day introductory WAYK workshop in partnership with the Dox Naahlx dip Niye’e Society. Learners and speakers of neighbouring language communities (Ts’emsyen Sm’alg̱a̱x, Tske’ene, and Wisuwit’en) will also join for this workshop. Beyond an introduction to the essentials of WAYK, the workshop will focus on strategies for creating immersion routines in a variety of classrooms (elementary, secondary, community classes, etc.) and during sessions with fluent speakers, as well as using WAYK Techniques to support existing curricula and materials.
