Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Fall 2025 Visit

The WAYK team returns to hitac̓u for a two-week visit in September and October of 2025. Our ongoing collaboration with the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Department of Culture, Language & Heritage brings us back to the west coast of Vancouver Island this fall.

The language team at Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ has been working since the Summer of 2024 to develop and pilot a part-time adult immersion program in nuučaan̓uł for their citizens. The YFN team has been collaborating closely with the team at c̓išaaʔatḥ Fist Nation over the past several years in an effort to model their new program on the Adult Intensive Program that is now in its 5th year at c̓išaaʔatḥ.

The WAYK team is excited to work with the YFN core team on activities designed to advance their own fluency. We will also devote time during this visit to prepare for the launch of the new cohort that will be joining their program in January 2026.
