Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ January 2026 Workshop & Program Launch

The WAYK team joins the team at the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Department of Culture, Language & Heritage for eight days of Zoom training in January 2026 as the members of their newest cohort join the program.

The language team at Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ has been working since the Summer of 2024 to develop and pilot a part-time adult immersion program in nuučaan̓uł for their citizens. The YFN team has been collaborating closely with the team at c̓išaaʔatḥ Fist Nation over the past several years in an effort to model their new program on the Adult Intensive Program that is now in its 5th year at c̓išaaʔatḥ.

This training will be focused on the newest members of the YFN language team, the newest cohort of learners. Our goals are to give the new cohort an introduction to WAYK techniques, to help build the routine for immersion elements of the program, and to dive into nuučaan̓uł lessons with the new learners.
