WAYK 2020 Summer Language Intensive

Okanagan Indian Band Introductory WAYK Workshop
August 19 - August 23, 2019 The WAYK team will visit with N̓səl̓xcin̓ language teachers and learners to provide a 5-day introductory WAYK workshop in partnership with the Okanagan Indian Band. Beyond an introduction to the essentials of WAYK, the workshop will focus on strategies for maintaining immersion in the classroom and during sessions with fluent speakers, as well as using WAYK Techniques to support existing curriculum and materials.

May Language Camp and WAYK Workshop
May 27th - June 6th, 2019 Monday-Thursday | 9:30 am - 3:30 pm Join us as the Tsleil-Waututh Nation Department of Language and Culture kicks off the 2019 Summer Language Intensive with two weeks of language learning for beginners! In this camp we’ll be working with learners and speakers of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Sníchim, testing new lessons, and practicing our teaching skills. This camp is open to learners ages 14 and above.
