The WAYK team will visit with the Alutiiq language team in Koidak, Alaska to support them in the first year of their ANA Native Language Community Coordination Project. We are excited to check in with the team as they embark on this five-year project and work to develop a new Alutiiq Language Nest for pre-school aged children in addition to reviewing and strengthening existing curriculum to support elementary, middle school, high school, and college Alutiiq learners.

Master-Apprentice Team Training in Port Graham, Alaska

Alaska Native Heritage Center Follow Up Training

WAYK returns to the Alaska Native Heritage Center for a follow up training with their Yup’ik and Inupiaq teaching teams. This training will focus on using WAYK Techniques in the classroom as well as designing lesson plans that incorporate WAYK activities (buckets, walks, games) and lead up to a milestone conversation (an introduction, a song, a story, etc.). The WAYK team will answer questions from the teaching teams about their experiences utilizing WAYK in their classrooms so far.
