June 26, 2020 - August 23, 2020 This summer, the WAYK team will live in the Vancouver area and work with a team of local speakers and learners. The team that comes together in North Vancouver will build on the existing work done over the past several years (including experiences working with both Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and hen̓q̓əmin̓em̓). August 19 - August 23, 2019  The WAYK team will visit with N̓səl̓xcin̓ language teachers and learners to provide a 5-day introductory WAYK workshop in partnership with the Okanagan Indian Band. Beyond an introduction to the essentials of WAYK, the workshop will focus on strategies for maintaining immersion in the classroom and during sessions with fluent speakers, as well as using WAYK Techniques to support existing curriculum and materials.

In this camp we’ll be working with learners and speakers of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Sníchim, testing new lessons, and practicing our teaching skills. This camp is open to learners ages 14 and above.
