The WAYK team will visit with SENĆOŦEN language teachers and learners to provide a 5-day introductory workshop in partnership with the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board. Beyond an introduction to the essentials of WAYK, the workshop will focus on strategies for immersion sessions, particularly those that might be useful for adult learners, both for participants in the SENĆOŦEN Master Apprentice program and in the adult language classes offered through the Saanich Adult Education Centre.

WAYK 2017 Summer Language Intensive

This summer the WAYK team, including at least 3 WAYK interns, and members of the regional Unangam Tunuu core team will travel to St. Paul Island to work with a team of local speakers and youths, organized by Aquilina Lestenkof and Anna Melovidov.
